Kinkajous as Pets

Kinkajous, which generally grow to a body length of about two feet, not including their prehensile tails, are roughly the same size as a small house cat. But unlike many pets, kinkajous are not quick or swift movers. Kinkajous can be described as gentle and careful animals.

If this is an outdoor environment, it is important that it is well contained because kinkajous can easily escape from many enclosures.

Kinkajous can live long and fruitful lives if they are well kept and fed. In fact, a kinkajou can live for up to 25 years! It is important to feed your pet a steady diet of fruits and eggs. It is best for kinkajous to avoid strawberries, avocados, chocolate, and anything with caffeine. If you are considering becoming a kinkajou owner, make sure that you can provide your pet with adequate shelter, food, and attention.
