Goldendoodles

Since the mid-1990s, Goldendoodles have become an increasingly popular breed of dogs in North America and Australia. Goldendoodles, also known as Goldie Poos and Groodles, are a mix between a Golden Retriever and Poodle. These dogs were bred to expand on the smaller poodle hybrids that gave families allergy-free pets. Goldendoodles were meant to be a companion dog and have also been used as guide-, therapy-, and many other type of assistance-dog.

Whatever breed of dog you choose, you need an experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian to take care of your pet throughout the years. Goldendoodle Appearance and Other Facts

Many people choose these dogs because they shed less than standard Golden Retrievers, but experts maintain that there is no way to truly predict how much a dog will shed or if he or she will be hypoallergenic. A Goldendoodle varies in size and appearance from dog to dog. The majority of standard Goldendoodles weigh roughly 100 pounds while miniature breeds can weight only 15 to 30 pounds.

A Goldendoodle’s appearance is somewhere between that of a Retriever and a Poodle. Their coats can be anything from longer hair more like a full Golden Retriever to the fleece-like coat of a Poodle to a combination of the two. Most breeds are a golden color, but they can also be white, cream, or even reddish.
